    Gerrard Gosens got more than he bargained for in his 6 hour qualifying swim required before he sets out to be the first completely blind person to swim English Channel.

    16 degrees or below was the mandate, Gerrard swum in 14.9 degrees (average) with a weather front pouring rain and whipping wind.
